If you only do one thing this week, do this

It is not your posting schedule. It is not your visuals. Here is what actually needs to change.

Hi Reader,

This week I want to give you something you can actually use today.

If your content is not getting the engagement you expected, while you have already tried fixing other things, like the consistency, the visuals, the captions, and the posting times, the problem is almost certainly not what you think it is.

It is your point of view. Or more specifically, the absence of one.

When your content looks and sounds like everyone else in your field, there is no reason for anyone to stop, read, or respond.

Your content might not be "bad" in the typical sense, but it is because nothing in it is giving people a reason to choose you specifically. That is a differentiation problem, and it has a completely different solution than the ones most people are trying.

The fix is simpler than it sounds.

You need to start sharing a contrarian opinion, a unique perspective, or an honest take on something in your industry that most people are either avoiding or not saying clearly enough.

You don't need to be controversial. Just give your audience a window into how you actually think. That is what builds a reputation and that is what makes content worth reading.

Here are three ways to do it.

The first is The Honest Take. Pick one piece of conventional wisdom in your field that you genuinely disagree with or that you think is missing important nuance.

Then say exactly what you think about it and why. It can be provocative, but necessarily a requirement. It is important that you use this take to demonstrate that you have a real perspective formed through real experience, not recycled insight.

The second is The Experience Reframe. Take something you have observed repeatedly in your work, with clients, in your industry, through your own journey, and use it to challenge an assumption your audience holds.

This works because it is insight earned through lived experience. It is the kind of content that cannot be replicated by AI or copied by a competitor because it comes from you specifically.

The third is The Industry Blind Spot. Name something that almost everyone in your field is ignoring, underestimating, or getting consistently wrong.

This positions you as someone who is paying closer attention than everyone else in the room. It invites agreement from people who feel the same way and disagreement from people who do not. Both outcomes drive engagement. Both build your reputation.

Your engagement rut is not a posting frequency problem. It is a point of view problem. And the founders who build reputations that actually travel are the ones who have something specific, honest, and distinctly theirs to say.

Pick one of the three formats above and use it for your next post. That is where it starts.

Try it out, and share your results. Just click reply and send them over. I read every email.

You've got this!

P.S. If you want to go deeper on this, and much more, my three-month private consultancy is where we build your full reputation strategy together, starting with the foundation that makes everything else work.

The Newsletter, Issue #99September 30th, 2026 Doing something out of FOMO is always a bad idea... but in communications, testing can teach us alot Hi Reader, Tell me honestly if something similar to this happened to you.. A few years ago, I was scrolling through LinkedIn, morning tea in the other hand (yes, I'm a tea drinker), when I saw that an industry conference had announced one of its keynote speakers. I knew the person. I knew their capabilities and their success rates and I was...

The Newsletter, Issue #98September 23rd, 2026 Doing something out of FOMO is always a bad idea... but in communications, testing can teach us alot Hi Reader, About a year ago, I made a decision out of FOMO. Everyone was switching to video, the podcasting scene was shifting, and I didn't want to be left behind. So I started filming episodes instead of just recording them. It wasn't a bad decision on paper. We all know that video is popular, but something quietly broke in the process. It's hard...

The Newsletter, Issue #97September 15th, 2026 You Don't Know What You Don't Know Hi Reader, Last week, I sat down to review a client's last ten posts before our call. I usually look at their social media output in-between our planned focus sessions. What I saw was great, to be honest. The grammar was good, the structure of the caption was solid, and every post was technically correct. But, one thing stood out for me .. I couldn't tell you a single thing about the person who wrote them (I...
