There's no denying in what is happening since AI became mainstream...
We’re living in a “Trust Recession”.
Sadly, not all technologies are used ethically. More and more "gurus" and "experts" are utilizing AI, not to advance their message but to mask lack of experience or knowledge. Some companies are using AI to create marketing campaigns that sadly do not relate to the audience they are targeting, but are price-suitable for their budgets.
As a result, the audience is becoming more skeptical and the trust is slowly shattering. For CEOs and Founders alike, this trust gap will have a direct impact on sales.
According to recent studies, only 37% of people trust what they see on social media. The trust numbers continue to drop when it comes to content shared from business accounts.
Today, more than ever, you as a business owner or as a CEO need to lean into your personal brand, reputation and name.
Your online visibility play a huge role.
I bet you heard this before: this is the best way to humanize your business. But truly it is much more than that. It is an opportunity to showcase vision, values, offering and have a way to connect directly with customers and clients by sharing nuanced and contextualized messaging.
It is time to care about “Trust”...and trust can be built faster and stronger when it is communicated human to human.
Today, we are witnessing a new landscape. The shift is already there from “age of information” to the “age of authenticity & relatability”.
Buyers and clients are bombarded with content every day, however:
- 70% of buyers feel more connected to a brand when its CEO/Founder is active on social media.
- People are 3x more likely to purchase from a brand that is perceived as human.
- 82% of people are more likely to trust a company whose leadership has a strong, visible presence.
...and I know what you're thinking, You are not an Influencer.
I agree, you ARE NOT.
What you are, is a leader with a vision, who has a great offer in-hand (your product/service), leading a business/teams and who is aware of the customer needs and desire. You are someone who has opinions about the industry, because you want to create a difference and - most importantly - positively impact your client's life.
When you show-up on social media, you are not present to pursue likes and vanity metrics, but instead, a platform to communicate:
- What you and your business is all about
- What values you embrace
- What change you want to create
- How your product/service is designed to create that impact
- How you understand your customer in a contextualized way - where you are aware of their buyer psychology and what they need to know, understand and believe to invest in your business, and much more..
You are not playing by the "influencer" rules, but instead with the intention of a thought leader.
So remember this:
When you invest in building your personal brand, you’re investing in trust. Trust is the foundation of long-term business growth. Trust in you as a leader and a face of the company can result in directly impacting your business's bottom line.
